UEFA Champion League: Atlectico Madrid Vs PSV Eindhoven: Team News, Preview and Predict Match Scores:

Atletico Madrid vs PSV Eindhoven
UEFA Champions League – Group D
Date: Tuesday, 1st November, 2016,
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK,
Venue: Vicente Calderon, Madrid.

Atletico Madrid suffered the humiliation of a derby day hammering on Saturday as Real Madrid beat them 3-0 courtesy of a Cristiano Ronaldo hat trick. This made it back to back defeats for the beaten Champions League finalists, their first consecutive La Liga defeats since 2012.

From all indications, Atletico Madrid have already qualified for the knockout stage of the Champions League. They will be aiming to finish the group stage unflawed as they welcome PSV to Estadio Vicente Calderon on Wednesday night.

The Champions League has been especially kind to them once again. They sit atop their group having won all four of their group games so far, scoring just five goals in the process and conceding once. This puts them three points ahead of Bayern Munich, and they could seal the top spot with a win on Wednesday, although it’s unlikely with Bayern visiting Rostov.

Meanwhile, PSV are still searching for a win, they will aim to avoid their worst UCL group stage Performance in this game. They have just 1 point so far, having lost 3 games and drawn 1. Also they are in the bottom of the table and are struggling to stay in the European competition this season.

Atletico Madrid might not score many goals, but their talent going forward is undeniable. Antoine Griezmann, Kevin Gameiro, and Yannick Carrasco have all been in fine form this season. It’s Carrasco who is proving the most dangerous though, with the young Belgian attacker netting seven goals in all competitions, with six of those coming in his last seven outings. This makes him the best choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions.

PSV are having a dreadful season as far as their high domestic standards go. They have won just two of their last ten games in all competitions and find themselves 3rd in the Eredivisie after 13 games. Had it not been for their good start to the season they could be a lot further behind as well.

PSV’s chances of improving their points tally on Wednesday are very low though. Atletico Madrid may have lost at the Vincente Calderon on Saturday, but that was against Real Madrid. Prior to that they had won six matches on the bounce there and scored an impressive 20 goals in the process.
