League leaders Chelsea overcame a tough test against West Brom on Sunday, but the Blues will now be looking to continue their remarkable winning run when they travel to take on rock-bottom Sunderland on Wednesday.
The Baggies made life difficult for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, but Diego Costa's 12th goal of the season ensured that Antonio Conte's men still sit three points clear at the top of the league standings with a midweek test against Sunderland to come.
David Moyes' side languish in 20th place in the table after they were beaten 3-0 by fellow strugglers Swansea on Saturday, and it will undoubtedly be a big ask for the team to try and secure a win over a rampant Chelsea side, who have now won nine straight games.
Head coach David Moyes' side was not able to respond with any goals to the hard-fighting Swans, who themselves had been reeling the past several rounds as well.
The match was scoreless in the first half until Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson broke the deadlock with a penalty kick six minutes after the restart.
Veteran striker Fernando Llorente sealed the game with a brace in the 54th and 80th minutes, handing the Black Cats their 10th loss in the English top flight this season.
With the defeat, Sunderland is back in the cellar of the 20-team league table, one point behind fellow bottom
three squads Swansea City and Hull City.
Chelsea is in a phenomenal form this season as the London giants have won their eighth consecutive Premier League games. With 37 points safely stuck into their pockets, the Blues are currently on the summit of the Premier League standings.
Conte’s Chelsea will try to replicate their brilliant displays on the recent games, and grab three points against struggling side, Sunderland.

Team News: Chelsea
Injury concerns for Chelsea are relatively minor as only a few players are unfit ahead of the clash against Sunderland.Captain John Terry is yet to recover from a muscle injury he picked up before the Spurs game, and he is expected to remain sidelined along with John Obi Mikel.
Kurt Zouma and Marco Van Ginkel have recovered from their injuries. However, they will be not in Antonio Conte’s starting lineup due to the lack of match fitness.
Attacking midfielder Oscar was ruled out of the match against West Brom due to an illness. He is doubtful for the selection against Sunderland as well.
One of the vital reasons for the Blues
success this season is their consistency in starting XI. Antonio Conte
seems to have found his perfect team, which is why he hasn’t rotated his
team much. So, we expect no changes in the Chelsea team against
Sunderland.
